About
Hello! My name is Dr. Holly-Marie Arce and I am a clinical psychologist, trained and licensed in California. I have experience working with multicultural individuals, catering treatment to patient's needs. I have worked in multiple settings including: university counseling, hospitals, medical school, and community mental health agencies. I specializes in psychological assessment of neurodivergent individuals, couples pre-marital counseling, life transitions, anxiety disorders, depression, heath-related difficulties, relationships, and spiritual development. As a provider, I am driven by the desire to help individuals recognize their strengths and steer away from over-generalizing weaknesses. My goal is to have my clients be able to identify and articulate their strengths and areas in need of support so that progress and improvement are measurable and attainable. This ultimately inspires hope and resilience.
During my internship and post-doc, I helped to develop the ADHD assessment clinic, and went on to be founder of Crossroads Assessment and Treatment Center in the Bay Area, specializing in ADHD and learning disability. My prime motivation was to decrease barriers to treatment regarding access and cost. During my work, I recognized the complexity of neurodivergent individuals. "Our brain doesn't care what we call it - it just does what it does," is something I often say to my clients. I love helping others discover and utilize their strengths, so that their weaknesses become less daunting and more manageable. Equally important, I let my clients know that they are not on this journey alone.
In my sessions I try to approach with warmth and curiosity. While listening to your story, concerns, goals and history, I focuses upon assessment and diagnostic clarification. My goals is to help clients better understand their areas of strength, and to better understand and have compassion for how they specifically function, to re-frame areas of challenge to better navigate their experiences and have greater self-kindness.
