About

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Dr. Haleh Kouchmeshki, and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in California. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and I’ve spent my career working with individuals across the lifespan across clinical and educational settings.

‍

My background includes extensive training and experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, as well as working with individuals with autism, ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, and other diverse ways of thinking and experiencing the world. I’m especially passionate about helping people better understand themselves—not just through a diagnosis, but through a deeper understanding of how their brain works, what they need to thrive, and the strengths they bring to their lives.

‍

I believe assessment should feel collaborative, respectful, and genuinely useful. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and where we can thoughtfully explore the patterns, strengths, challenges, and questions that brought you here. I approach each evaluation with curiosity and an appreciation for the individuality of every person I meet.

‍

Ultimately, I hope the assessment process leaves you with greater clarity, self-understanding, and a framework for moving forward in a way that feels authentic to you.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University; MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University; BA in Psychology from The University of California, Los Angeles; Post-Master's Certificate from California State University, Northridge
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I’m drawn to working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals because I believe greater self-understanding can be incredibly empowering. My background in clinical and neuropsychological assessment has shown me how meaningful it can be for people to finally have language for experiences they may have struggled to understand or explain. I approach this work with curiosity, compassion, and a strengths-based perspective, with the goal of helping each person better understand how they think, learn, connect, and navigate the world.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take a strengths-based, affirming approach by first seeking to understand the whole person—their strengths, perspectives, experiences, and the ways they make sense of the world. I believe our differences are an important part of who we are, not something that needs to be “fixed.” As a first-generation Persian American, I also understand the importance of culture, identity, and the many layers that shape how we experience ourselves and our relationships. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen, respected, and comfortable being themselves while building on the strengths they already possess.
