About

Hello/ Hola and Welcome. My name is Griselda Rodriguez, I am a bilingual LCSW with over a decade of experience in the mental health field working with various ages and populations including neurodivergent, LGBTQIA, Immigrants and more. At the core of my goal is to create a space that allows all parts of you to be seen and heard. My clinical framework is guided by theories of intersectionality and trauma informed care and the impact that this may have in your everyday life. My goal is for us to work together and continue building on your resiliency and strengths, as well as to facilitate the space to process traumatic and systematic events that have impacted your overall quality of life. Your stories, your experiences, your humanity matters and your role is to support you in this journey.

Education & Licensure
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

In 2017 I was assigned as the Nest Counselor at a high school. The Nest program works with NYC Students who have been diagnosed with autism. My role was to provide social emotional support to students as the transition high school and later support with post high school transition. Something that I noticed in my years of practice is that the access to services for a neurodiverse person becomes challenging as they reach young adult age. There is an invisible assumption that by the time you have completed high school that somehow, you have “outgrown your diagnosis” leaving folks confused, anxious and stressed about the world they are about to enter. All life transitions can be challenging but they can be even more difficult when society functions through an ableist system. This is why I have chosen to transition my practice. To be part of a system that is working to reduce barriers to access to quality of care.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Understanding your unique life, experiencing strengths and goals are at the center of my work. This is not a one fit all model. Helping you feel empowered, celebrated, recognized based on what matters is what will guide our work together. You may already have to spend so much energy masking. I hope that in this space you can feel supported and can be unapologetically you!
