About
Hello and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Dr. Gemma Andaya, and I’m a licensed psychotherapist who provides therapy to clients in California and Nevada. My work focuses on supporting neurodivergent adults—including individuals with ADHD and autism—who may be navigating anxiety, burnout, sensory overwhelm, life transitions, or relationship challenges. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, deeply perceptive individuals who have spent years trying to fit into environments that didn’t always understand how their minds naturally work. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where you don’t have to mask or explain yourself constantly. Together, we can slow down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and develop practical tools that help you move through life with greater clarity, balance, and self-trust.
My interest in working with neurodivergent clients comes from a deep respect for the diversity of human minds and the insight, creativity, and emotional depth that many neurodivergent individuals bring to the world. Over time, I noticed that many clients were coming to therapy not because something was “wrong” with them, but because they had spent years navigating systems, relationships, and expectations that didn’t always recognize their strengths.I feel honored to support individuals who are learning to understand their nervous system, unlearn patterns of masking, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that may have been misunderstood or overlooked. My goal is to help you build a life that feels sustainable, authentic, and aligned with how you naturally experience the world.
My approach is affirming, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I work with you to recognize and build upon the qualities that already exist within you—such as creativity, empathy, curiosity, and strong pattern recognition. In our work together, we may explore tools for emotional regulation, managing sensory input, reducing burnout, and navigating relationships in ways that feel safe and authentic. I integrate evidence-based psychotherapy with mindfulness and somatic awareness practices to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and nervous system.Above all, I aim to create a therapeutic space where you feel respected, supported, and free to show up as your full self.
