About

My name is Dr. Fernanda Lucchese-Lobato, and I am a clinical neuropsychologist dedicated to helping individuals better understand their cognitive, emotional, and developmental profiles. I currently live in Miami, Florida, and I am licensed to practice in Florida, California, New York, and Massachusetts. I believe that a high-quality evaluation should be both rigorous and compassionate. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and exploring their personal history. Through careful assessment and collaborative discussion, my goal is to provide clarity, validation, and practical recommendations that support self-understanding and well-being. Every individual’s story is unique, and I am honored to be part of the process of helping people better understand themselves.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Clinical Psychology from University of Massachussetts Boston; Master's in Clinical Psychology from University of Massachussetts Boston; Master's in Biopsychology from New York University; BA in Developmental Psychology from Duke University.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

In my work with this telehealth practice, I specialize in the remote evaluation of adults with neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Many adults seek evaluation later in life to better understand long-standing differences in communication, social interaction, attention, or sensory experiences that may not have been recognized earlier in life. I am deeply motivated by the opportunity to help individuals make sense of their experiences in a respectful and validating way. Through thoughtful, evidence-based assessments, my goal is to provide clarity and insight into each person’s cognitive and developmental profile, helping them better understand their strengths, challenges, and unique ways of navigating the world.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I approach my work with the belief that understanding a person’s strengths, ways of thinking, and lived experiences is just as important as identifying areas of difficulty. Neurodevelopmental differences often come with meaningful abilities, perspectives, and problem-solving styles that deserve recognition. During the evaluation process, I focus on understanding the whole person—their history, interests, talents, and the environments in which they function best—so that the results reflect a balanced and respectful picture of who they are.I also recognize that culture, language, and life experiences shape how people communicate, relate to others, and understand themselves. Because of this, I approach each evaluation with curiosity and humility, ensuring that differences related to background or identity are thoughtfully considered. My goal is for clients to leave the process with greater clarity about themselves, a deeper appreciation of their strengths, and practical insights that support them in navigating the world in ways that feel authentic and empowering.
