About
Hi there! I’m Dr. Fathima Ali (she/her), and I am a licensed clinical psychologist based out of Northern California. I’m passionate about helping people find clarity in their lives and relationships. I obtained a master’s in Couples and Family Therapy before pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at William James College. I’ve had the pleasure of working in a range of settings, including psychological and educational assessment centers, integrated medical centers, college counseling, community mental health, and private practice. No matter where I’ve worked, I strive to meet my clients where they are to properly honor their stories and lived experiences, while supporting them in creating meaningful change and building self-understanding.
My motivation for working with autistic and neurodivergent adults stems from my values for advocacy. Systems, such as schools and medical centers can easily overlook individuals who are struggling. I understand what it is like to go through life fighting to be seen and accepted, while also fighting against a system that makes it harder to understand what’s happening. Assessments help uncover how you navigate life and open doors to living with greater relief and understanding. It’s important to me to provide neurodivergent adults with these opportunities.
My approach is grounded in authenticity, curiosity, and collaboration. I work closely with clients, honoring their strengths and the unique ways they move through the world. Rather than centering solely on challenges, I focus on helping people recognize their resilience, values, and capacity for growth. I believe meaningful change happens through self-understanding and empowerment. As someone with multiple intersecting identities that shape my daily experiences, I understand the importance of identity-affirming care and strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are.
