About

It is a pleasure to meet you, and I am honored to be a part of your journey. My name is Erika Liljedahl, and I currently live in Colorado. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Colorado, Illinois, and Missouri, and I am also authorized to practice through PsyPact. One of the most meaningful aspects of my work is walking alongside people as they navigate life's challenges and opportunities for growth. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, deepen your understanding of yourself, and discover your strengths. I strive to help you feel valued, heard, and empowered as you move toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth.

Education & Licensure
Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology; M.S. in Counseling Education from Canisius College; Dual B.A. in Psychology and German from SUNY at Buffalo.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My professional and personal passion for working with neurodivergent and autistic clients is rooted in helping each person recognize their inherent value and unique strengths, rather than viewing themselves through a deficit-based lens. Regardless of your background or what brings you to me, I believe you deserve to be seen, respected, and valued as the unique individual you are. You have a life full of possibilities, and you deserve the opportunity to thrive. While understanding areas of challenge can be an important part of gaining insight and accessing appropriate supports, I believe it is equally important to identify and build upon your strengths.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach emphasizes empowerment, self-understanding, and helping you use your natural abilities to create meaningful change. On a personal level, being the mother of an autistic individual has profoundly shaped both my life and my perspective. It has deepened my appreciation for neurodiversity, expanded my empathy, and challenged me to grow in ways I never imagined. This experience continues to inform my practice and reinforces my commitment to providing affirming, compassionate, and strengths-based care.
