About

Hello and welcome. My name is Dr. Erica McKinney, and I am a Licensed Psychologist. I am passionate about supporting individuals as they create lives that feel meaningful, aligned, and joy-filled. I believe each person’s story is unique, and I am deeply committed to providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed care to every individual I work with.

Education & Licensure
PhD Counseling Psychology with a Emphasis in Health Psychology from the University of Georgia; Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health with a Specialization in Addictions Counseling from Marquette University; Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare and Sociology from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I am a Psychologist with extensive training in Health Psychology and in working with individuals who have historically and currently experienced barriers to accessing high-quality psychological care. Recognizing the significant gaps in services, I chose to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals. My goal is to provide affirming, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care to a community that has too often been misunderstood or underserved.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My work is grounded in the belief that you already carry strengths within you — strengths that have helped you navigate life up to this point. Together, we build upon those strengths to create care that is thoughtfully tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and needs.
