About

Hello. I'm so glad you're here. My name is Dr. Erica Holmes, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist based in Southern California. I am passionate about helping individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves through the assessment process. I believe that seeking answers about autism or neurodiversity takes courage, and I strive to create a warm, respectful, and supportive experience where you feel heard and understood. My goal is to make the evaluation process clear, collaborative, and meaningful, while recognizing the unique experiences and strengths that each person brings. Whether you are seeking clarity, validation, or greater self-understanding, I am committed to providing an assessment experience that is thoughtful, compassionate, and centered on you.

Education & Licensure
PsyD from The California School of Professional Psychology; MA in Clinical Psychology from The California School of Professional Psychology; BA in Sociology from California State University Dominguez Hills.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from a desire to help people better understand themselves and their experiences. Throughout my career, I have seen how meaningful it can be when individuals receive clarity, validation, and language for challenges they may have navigated for years without answers. I value a neurodiversity-affirming approach that recognizes both strengths and areas of difficulty without viewing differences as deficits. I am committed to providing a respectful and culturally responsive assessment experience that honors each person's unique story, identity, and lived experience. My goal is to help clients gain insight, self-understanding, and practical information that can support them in moving forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to every assessment by recognizing that neurodiversity is a difference, not a deficit. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I seek to understand each individual's unique strengths, perspectives, coping strategies, and areas of resilience. I believe that assessment should not only provide answers, but also help clients develop a deeper appreciation for how they navigate the world. I strive to create a respectful and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. My goal is for each person to leave the assessment process with greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence in their abilities, along with meaningful information that can support their personal, educational, or professional goals.
