About

Hi! My name is Emily Hylton Jean, I'm a clinical psychologist licensed in Georgia. I also hold the PSYPACT credential that allows me to support clients in many other states. Although I currently live in Georgia, I am from the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina and have spent years living in Ireland, Jordan, Miami (FL), and Baltimore (MD).

Education & Licensure
PhD in Clinical Psychology (Health Specialization) from University of Miami; MPH from Johns Hopkins University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

Traditional assessment models sometimes pathologize neurodivergent traits, which can lead to invalidation rather than meaningful support. In my work, I hope to shift the clinical focus to fostering an environment of genuine affirmation and autonomy. I would love to partner with you to help you identify strengths and growth areas and thrive on your own terms.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

You are the expert regarding your own lived experiences. My assessment practice centers on identifying and leveraging existing strengths to build robust resilience, rather than just identifying pathology. Together, we will discuss how you can utilize your own capabilities to navigate challenges effectively.
