Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with neurodivergent adults initially came from seeing how difficult it was for my clients to find helpful resources and support as adults. Unfortunately, even when my clients were able to find a resource, it wasn’t always the most positive or affirming experience for them. I wanted people to feel welcomed, supported, and understood, and eventually I found myself thinking, “Why don’t I start doing this work?”

I also know how healing it can be to better understand why our brains work the way they do. There can be something really powerful about having those “a-ha” moments and finally having language to make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing for a long time. I wanted to offer that experience to more people.

My hope is that you walk away from our time together feeling heard and believed, with a greater understanding of yourself and a clearer sense of how to move forward in a way that works best for you.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Our work together will not just focus on areas where you struggle. I find it vitally important to also recognize what is going well for you, what comes naturally to you, and the strengths you have developed along the way. I don’t believe that being neurodivergent means you have deficits. I think we all have areas where we feel more confident and capable and other areas where we may need more support.

Together, we will explore your unique strengths and how you can use them to support the areas that feel more challenging. I also want to understand you as a whole person, not just through the lens of a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. My goal is to create a space where you can be curious about yourself, recognize what makes you uniquely you, and think about what kinds of environments, strategies, and supports allow you to thrive.
