About

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Elizabeth Shouse, and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist based in California. I’m deeply passionate about helping individuals better understand their unique strengths, challenges, and ways of experiencing the world. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel respected, understood, and empowered throughout the assessment process. I believe that gaining insight into one’s neurotype can be a deeply validating and transformative experience, and I’m honored to help individuals on their path toward greater self-awareness and well-being.

Education & Licensure
Psy.D. in Clinical-Forensic Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology; M.A in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology; Bachelor's in Psychology from UCLA.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My desire for working with autistic and neurodivergent adults stems from a deep appreciation for the many ways minds can process, connect, and experience the world. Throughout my career in psychological assessment and therapy, I’ve seen how often neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood or overlooked within traditional systems of care. I’m driven to change that by providing evaluations that are validating, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique cognitive and emotional landscape. My goal is to help clients find clarity, self-love, and empowerment in understanding their neurotype—and to support them in building lives that align with their strengths, values, and authentic selves.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming, strengths-based approach to every assessment and interaction by starting from the belief that there is nothing “wrong” with the way someone’s brain works. My role is to help uncover the unique strengths, interests, and abilities that each person already possesses, and to use those as the foundation for growth and self-understanding. I approach this work with compassion, mindfulness, and respect—listening deeply to each person’s story and helping them reframe challenges through a lens of resilience and capability. My goal is for every client to leave the process feeling more confident in who they are, and more empowered to navigate the world on their own terms.
