About

Hello and welcome! My name is Elizabeth "Miki" Anderson. I live in North Carolina, and I am licensed in North Carolina, New Hampshire, and Florida. I care deeply about creating a safe and compassionate space where individuals feel heard. I believe that we are all works in progress.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University; MA in Community Counseling from Argosy University, Washington DC; BA in Psychology from UNC Greensboro; BA in Sociology from UNC Greensboro
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with neurodivergent clients began due to growing up with an autistic sibling and wanting to find ways to help him and others. Over time, I learned that I also am autistic, and I believe that--while one size does not fit all, being a neurodivergent counseling professional gives me a particular insight that people respond well to.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I use a strengths-based approach, pulling from various theoretical principles, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and person-centered counseling. As I stated before, I believe that we are all works in progress, and people need to be met where they are in life.
