About
Welcome! My name is Dr. Ellie Tripp, but feel free to call me Ellie (they/them). I am a clinical psychologist licensed and based in Minnesota, and I am PSYPACT credentialed, allowing me to serve people in over 40 states. As a queer, nonbinary, and neurodivergent psychologist, I know that seeking an assessment can feel intimidating or high-stakes. My goal is to make the process as accessible and affirming as possible. Whatever the outcome, I want you to walk away with a deeper, clearer understanding of who you are and how you move through the world.
After spending the majority of my career providing therapy to primarily LGBTQ+ people, I noticed a recurring pattern emerge: so many of them - particularly queer, transgender, and nonbinary people assigned female at birth - were arriving with undiagnosed or late-in-life diagnoses of autism and/or ADHD. They'd spent years being told they were too sensitive, too much, or simply too hard to understand - when in reality they were unrecognized, overlooked, and unsupported. High masking, often since childhood, resulted in them falling through the cracks. Witnessing the kind of hard-won clarity and self-recognition that came with a later-in-life diagnosis made me want to be part of the solution. My goal is to help you find that same clarity and to build toward a life where you can feel at home in yourself.
I'm genuinely interested in you - not just your history or your symptoms, but your experience of yourself and the world around you. I come into every assessment with a neurodiversity-affirming perspective - which means I’m not looking for what’s “wrong,” but rather helping you build a clearer, more complete picture of yourself - one that honors your strengths just as much as your challenges.
