About

Hi, and welcome! I’m Dr. Eileen Gonzalez, a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Educational Psychologist in California. I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for psychological support or an evaluation can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that my goal is to make that process feel comfortable, collaborative, and meaningful.

I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across clinical, educational, and community settings. My experience includes psychological and psychoeducational assessment, individual and family therapy, mental health services, crisis intervention, and working with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. I believe every person has a unique story, and I take the time to understand the person behind the symptoms, concerns, or questions that bring you in. Whether you are seeking support, trying to better understand yourself or your child, or looking for answers through an evaluation, I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. My hope is that you leave our work together with greater clarity, practical tools, and a stronger understanding of yourself and your strengths.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients comes from my years of working with children, adolescents, and families and seeing how important it is for individuals to feel understood rather than defined by a diagnosis or a label. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals with a wide range of developmental, emotional, behavioral, and learning needs, and I’ve seen firsthand how much clarity and understanding a thoughtful evaluation can provide for individuals and their families.

I’m especially drawn to this work because every person presents differently, and I believe assessment should be about understanding the whole person, their strengths, challenges, communication style, relationships, environment, and individual experiences. My goal is to create an evaluation experience where you feel respected, comfortable, and genuinely heard. I want my work to provide more than a diagnosis; I want it to offer meaningful insight, practical recommendations, and a better understanding of what support can help you feel successful and empowered.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring a compassionate, strengths-based approach to my work by looking beyond challenges or diagnoses and taking the time to understand the whole person. I believe that every individual has their own strengths, interests, ways of communicating, and ways of experiencing the world. Rather than focusing only on what may be difficult, I want to understand what is working, what comes naturally, and what makes each person unique.

I strive to create an environment where you feel respected, comfortable, and accepted for who you are. I listen to your experiences, perspectives, and concerns and incorporate them into the evaluation process rather than making assumptions based solely on test results or a diagnosis. My goal is to help you recognize and build upon existing strengths while also identifying supports that can make everyday life more manageable and meaningful. Ultimately, I want my work to leave you feeling understood and empowered, not defined by a diagnosis, but better able to understand yourself and advocate for what you need to thrive.
