About
Hi, I’m Dr. Eanah Whaley. I’m a board-certified clinical psychologist and retired U.S. Air Force psychologist based in Northern Virginia. If you’re considering an evaluation, you may have spent a long time wondering why certain things seem to affect you differently, questioning your own experiences, or trying to understand parts of yourself that have never quite made sense. My goal is to make the evaluation process feel comfortable, collaborative, and genuinely useful to you. I’m naturally curious about people and what makes us who we are, and I want you to feel that I’m getting to know you, not simply looking for symptoms or checking boxes. I hope you leave the process with greater clarity, a better understanding of yourself, and language for experiences you may have had difficulty explaining before.
I’ve always been interested in understanding what shapes the way people think, feel, behave, and experience the world. That curiosity is a big part of what draws me to working with autistic and neurodivergent adults. An evaluation can provide an answer to an important question, but I hope it can offer more than that. I hope the process gives you greater clarity about yourself, helps you make sense of your experiences, and gives you useful language for understanding and communicating your needs. Most of all, I hope you leave the evaluation with information that feels meaningful and useful as you move forward.
I believe everyone brings strengths, abilities, and ways of navigating the world that are uniquely their own. I take time to understand what you do well, what matters to you, and what has helped you get where you are. I want the evaluation process to help you recognize those strengths more clearly and understand how you can continue to build on them. My hope is that you leave with a fuller understanding of yourself that not only brings clarity, but also helps you feel more confident in who you are and what you are capable of.
