About

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Dianna Stephens, a licensed clinical social worker based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I’m licensed to provide therapy in Ohio and Illinois. I’m passionate about offering care that is affirming, respectful, and rooted in understanding each person’s lived experience. My background includes supporting adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity exploration, and major life transitions. I take an autism-affirming approach to therapy, meaning I focus on strengths, self-understanding, and practical tools — not “fixing” or changing who you are. Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to what actually works for you. What drives me as a provider is helping clients feel seen, validated, and more confident in navigating daily life in ways that align with their needs and values. I strive to create a safe, low-pressure space where growth feels supportive and sustainable.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in specializing in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients grew out of my work at the high school level, where I supported teens who were navigating diagnoses and feeling anxious about the transition into independent living, higher education, or the workforce. I saw firsthand how overwhelming these life shifts could be and how much support was needed beyond the school setting.I worked closely with students to help them build confidence, self-advocacy skills, and practical tools for these transitions. That experience shaped my desire to continue supporting this population beyond adolescence. Now, as a therapist, I’m committed to walking alongside autistic and neurodivergent individuals at any stage of life, offering affirming support that meets them where they are.I genuinely enjoy this work and find it deeply meaningful to help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they navigate their own paths.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming, strength-based approach to my work by helping clients recognize and better understand their individual strengths, and then supporting them in using those strengths to meet their needs and goals. Rather than focusing on deficits, I work collaboratively with clients to build on what’s already working and, when needed, help them discover and develop new strengths.Creating a safe, supportive space is central to my work. I strive to ensure clients feel truly heard, validated, and respected, so they can show up as their authentic selves without pressure to mask or change who they are. From that foundation of trust, we work together toward growth that feels meaningful, empowering, and sustainable.
