About
Hello! I am glad that you are here. I am Deborah Ridgeway, a clinical social worker. I enjoy working with all kinds of people, and learn something new from everyone I work with. I believe that people are generally doing the best they can, and that we all strive to do better, be better, learn more about ourselves, one another and the world. It is an exciting journey and I am privileged to walk a ways with you!
I am eager to support autistic and neurodivergent folks because I am one of us, and I have recently been much more hopeful that well-deserved attention and supports are finally coming into the public's awareness. We as humans have much in common, but neurodivergent people have extra challenges. We also have creative thinking and colorful personalities to share with the world. My goal is to support such clients as they work to better understand themselves, solve problems and work toward your goals and dreams.
I am absolutely strengths-oriented in my approach to therapy. I welcome and support diversity in all its forms. We certainly each have our own challenges and goals, but facing those with support and affirmation helps each of us to feel seen, valued and accepted.
