Daniel Martinson
About
I'm Dr. Daniel Martinson, a licensed clinical psychologist based in Christiansburg, Virginia. I have over a decade of experience in psychological assessment and counseling, working with people across a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. I've always valued the opportunity to understand people's individual experiences and help them gain insight into themselves. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and practical, with an emphasis on understanding each person in their own context.
I'm especially interested in helping adults find clarity about experiences and questions they've carried for years, sometimes without a satisfying explanation. An autism evaluation can offer a valuable perspective on longstanding patterns, clarify individual strengths and challenges, and open doors to appropriate resources and accommodations. I find it rewarding to help people develop a more coherent understanding of their experiences, regardless of whether the evaluation results in a diagnosis.
I approach assessment with curiosity, compassion, and an appreciation for individual differences. Rather than viewing people primarily through the lens of symptoms or diagnoses, I consider their strengths, personal history, and the ways they've adapted to different environments. I see assessment as a collaborative process that brings together your lived experience and my clinical expertise. My aim is to provide a thorough, individualized evaluation with clear findings and practical recommendations that are relevant to your life.
