About

It is nice to meet you!  I am Dana Monroe, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Colorado for over 15 years. Over the course of my diverse career, I have found the power in recognizing people for who they are and in meeting them where they are at, serves as the beginning of their transformative journey towards being the best version of themselves. My professional role is to work along side you to remove obstacles and help you to achieve your goals which can only be accomplished by seeing you, hearing you, and doing my best to truly understand you. I am honored to be part of your healing journey!

Education & Licensure
Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from a private APA accredited school, The California School of Professional Psychology, Masters in Clinical Psychology from The California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, California and Bachelors in Clinical Psychology from University of Colorado-Boulder.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

What began my interest in working with autistic/neurodivergent clients was when my nephew was diagnosed with autism at the age of three.  Since then, I have worked with many neurodivergent adults in my private practice.  A cornerstone of my psychology practice is respecting each person's individuality, as truly knowing them is key to providing the best care. A framed quote by Christopher Robbins to Winnie the Pooh has been in my office for years which may say it best, "you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

At my core, I believe in empowering individuals by validating their worth. Too many of my clients have lived with little to no support, causing their self-criticism to outweigh their self-worth. I aim to change this narrative by helping them recognize the strength and resilience I see in them, allowing them to finally own their impressive character. I consider it a privilege to be a part of this transformative journey.
