About
Hello! I’m Dana Guetschow, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin. I’m passionate about helping people feel understood, accepted, and empowered to be themselves. With nearly three decades of experience supporting individuals and families, I bring a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy. I believe everyone deserves a safe, affirming space where their experiences are valued and their strengths are recognized. As a proud LGBTQ+ ally, I strive to create an inclusive environment where you can show up as your authentic self. My goal is to partner with you as you navigate life’s challenges, discover what works for you, and move toward greater well-being.
My passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from nearly three decades of experience supporting people with diverse needs across schools, homes, and community settings. Through this work, I’ve learned the importance of understanding each person as an individual rather than expecting them to fit into someone else’s expectations. I believe neurodivergence is an important part of human diversity, and I want my clients to feel accepted, understood, and respected for who they are. My goal is to work alongside you to build on your strengths, navigate challenges, and find strategies that fit your unique needs and goals. You deserve support that honors your individuality and helps you live a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you.
My experience supporting individuals with diverse needs across school, home, and community settings. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in supporting adults navigating neurodivergence, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. My clinical approach draws on EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, healing, and personal growth.
I take a compassionate, affirming, and strengths-based approach to therapy. I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to listen, understand what matters to you, and help you build on the strengths you already have. Rather than focusing on changing who you are, I want to help you find strategies that work with your unique needs, preferences, and way of experiencing the world. I value collaboration, celebrate progress in all its forms, and respect your goals and autonomy. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I am committed to creating an inclusive space where you feel safe being yourself and working toward a life that feels meaningful to you.
