About
I am licensed in TX, FL, and TN. Raising children and dealing with teenagers about to become adults is hard work, as is marriage and divorce. I work with adults struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, life issues and challenges. Every client is different, and so is their counseling experience. In the first session with me, I will introduce myself and ask you what circumstances have brought you to counseling. I genuinely want to know how you are doing, what you are feeling, and what you have been experiencing.
I didn't know exactly why I wanted to become a therapist until I went through trauma. Only then did it become clear. I am currently authoring a book that will help others who are going through what I went through.
Life can be hard, and unexpected changes can be challenging. I specialize in helping people, period. My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I have a Scottish Terrier and a handful of chickens. My sessions are very relaxed. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything and to feel heard. I most frequently use a client centered approach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and ACT, as these methods help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.
