About
Hello and welcome! I’m glad that you're here and that you want to change. My name is Cynthia Cox, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Texas and licensed in California and Texas. I’m passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward greater balance, clarity, and well-being. As a clinician, I strive to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe that each person is the expert of their own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—helping you build insight, strengthen resilience, and develop tools that support meaningful change. Every person’s journey is different, and I value the opportunity to partner with you in a way that feels supportive, collaborative, and empowering as you move forward.
My motivation for working with autistic and neurodivergent clients comes from a deep respect for neurodiversity and a commitment to providing care that is affirming, individualized, and free of judgment. I recognize that many neurodivergent individuals have had experiences of being misunderstood, overlooked, or expected to fit into systems that were not designed with them in mind. That awareness has shaped my desire to create a therapeutic space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted as they are. My goal is to help clients navigate challenges while also building self-trust, self-advocacy, and confidence. Together, we work toward creating a life that feels more manageable, authentic, and supportive of who you are.
I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to my work by intentionally focusing on who you are—not just what you’re struggling with. I believe each person comes with inherent strengths, resilience, and insight, and my role is to help you recognize, access, and build on those qualities in a way that feels authentic to you. I tailor interventions to align with your strengths, values, and goals—whether that means building practical coping tools, increasing self-awareness, or developing strategies that fit how you naturally think and function. My approach is grounded in compassion and partnership, with a commitment to supporting you in a way that feels empowering and sustainable. Ultimately, my goal is to help you strengthen your sense of self, build confidence in your abilities, and move toward a life that reflects your needs, values, and full potential.
