About

Greetings!! My name is Courtney Boston, a California-licensed psychologist based in the Los Angeles area. I am a psychologist, professor, and assessment provider with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across clinical, educational, community, and developmental-disability settings. Much of my work has focused on psychological and developmental assessment, including evaluations for autism, ADHD, intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as broader cognitive, adaptive, social-emotional, and diagnostic concerns. I am especially passionate about providing culturally responsive care and supporting individuals and families from communities that have historically been underserved or misunderstood within mental health systems.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Los Angeles; Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

What brought me to become a culturally attuned psychologist is that I believe people deserve to feel understood—not simply evaluated, diagnosed, or reduced to the challenges they may be experiencing. I enjoy providing a thorough evaluation that can help individuals and families make sense of experiences they may have struggled to understand for years. My goal is to provide clarity while helping clients to build a life worth living by understanding themselves. I want clients to leave the assessment process with a better understanding of themselves, their needs, and the strengths they can continue to build on.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is compassionate, affirming, culturally responsive, and strength based approaches that support individuals and their families. I strive to understand the whole person—including their abilities, interests, relationships, environment, culture, lived experiences, and existing strengths. Assessment is collaborative, and I strive to create an environment in which clients and families feel heard and respected throughout the process. I use assessment findings not only to identify areas where additional support may be beneficial but also to highlight the strengths, skills, and personal resources that can help each individual continue to grow and realize their full potential.
