Courtney Barnes
About
Hi there! My name is Courtney Barnes and I am located in Southwest Colorado. I am currently a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the states of Colorado and Indiana. As a therapist, my highest priority is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, safe, and respected. I believe that you are the ultimate expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as a collaborative partner. In our sessions, you can expect an approach that is deeply rooted in empathy, but balanced with practical, real-world tools.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they don’t have to translate themselves to be understood. Traditional therapy has often focused on making neurodivergent individuals conform to a neurotypical world. I am motivated by the privilege of watching clients safely let down their guard, discover their true strengths, and unmask at their own pace. Seeing someone move from a place of exhaustion and self-doubt to embracing their authentic self is the most rewarding part of my work. You could say that is a part of "my why". I am passionate about providing the validating, neurodiversity-affirming care that everyone deserves.
My therapeutic approach blends the empathy of strengths perspective and person-centered therapy with the practical, evidence-based tools of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and other modalities. I provide a warm, non-judgmental space where your unique experiences are validated while actively helping you build actionable skills to navigate life's challenges. You are treated as the expert of you, I am just a collaborative partner to help you meet your goals.Together, we will work collaboratively to help you foster self-compassion and create lasting, meaningful change.
