About

Hi! Thank you for considering working with me. I am a counseling psychologist based in Charlotte, NC and have been in practice for eight years. My experiences include group practices and university counseling centers, and my clinical areas of emphasis are identity, relationships, DEIB, and grief/loss. To quote Buffy Summers, "The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live." This quote has informed my approach to therapy (and life). I work with my clients to help them better understand how their individuality, relationships, and society intersect to inform their life. I use Relational-Cultural Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to frame my work with clients and help them develop skills to live a growth-fostering life.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University, MS in Educational Psychology from Oklahoma State University, BA in Psychology from Georgia State University, BA in Sociology from Georgia State University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I choose to work with autistic/neurodivergent clients because of my values, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Society often privileges one way of living and processing, and that is not the experience of so many people. I want to help provide space for all people to feel seen and heard.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

All people have strengths and areas for growth, and the strengths are enhanced by our diversity and lived experiences. I believe that every person who meets with me can access the tools, information, and support they need for a growth-fostering. To that effect, I approach my clients with humility, compassion, and openness. I also believe it is important to be open about my identity as a queer person, in an effort to build safety and understanding with my community and others.
