About
My name is Ciara Christensen, and I'm a licensed psychologist based in Wisconsin. I came to this work because I'm genuinely curious about people, what shapes us, and what helps us feel more like ourselves. Alongside my work in autism assessment, I maintain a clinical practice, and I bring that same attentiveness to every person I sit with. I believe in creating a safe, unhurried space where you feel heard and understood, where your experience is met with warmth rather than judgment. My goal is to partner with you: to help you make sense of your story, uncover strengths you may not have named yet, and find steady footing as we work through life's challenges together.
What draws me to autistic and neurodivergent adults is the chance to meet people as they actually are and to notice the ways they've quietly adapted, often at personal costs. I'm continually moved by the insight and resilience I encounter, and by how much shifts when someone finally feels seen rather than assessed. My hope is to name strengths that have gone unrecognized, ease the pressure to mask, and help you flourish moving forward.
Rather than starting from what's "wrong," I look for what's already working: the ways you've coped, the skills you've built, the perspectives that are genuinely yours. My role is to listen closely, take your experience at face value, and reflect back capacities you may have stopped noticing in yourself. I want our work to feel less like being evaluated and more like being accompanied; a space where you can show up authentically, without editing or masking, and be met with affirmation rather than judgment. From that foundation of safety and respect, we can work toward the goals that matter to you, and at a pace that honors you.
