About
Hi there. If you’re here, you might be looking for answers to questions you’ve had for a long time. Seeking an assessment as an adult isn't about finding a label. It’s about finally getting a clear understanding of yourself and how your mind works, so you can navigate the world on your own terms. I am a licensed psychologist with 35 years of experience in psychological assessment. My goal is to make sure you feel heard and respected throughout our entire time together.
My interest in this field started while working with high schoolers labeled as "troubled." I quickly realized many were autistic students whose needs were being misunderstood or ignored. Later, I noticed a pattern among adults in my practice, particularly those in difficult social situations, who had never been identified as autistic and thus whose challenges and needs were not being met. Seeing how much clarity and improved well-being a correct identification brought to their lives caused me to focus on the neurodivergent population more sharply. I eventually began teaching other clinicians how to screen for autism to ensure fewer people slipped through the cracks.
Evaluations can feel intimidating. Sharing your history and feelings with a stranger is a vulnerable act, so I keep my process respectful and grounded in your lived experience. We work as collaborators. My approach is non-pathologizing, meaning we focus on your strengths and how to support your specific needs rather than checking boxes. You are the expert on your life; I’m just here to provide the clinical framework to help you understand it better.
