About
Hello, and welcome! I’m so glad you found your way here. My name is Dr. Chu Hui Cha, and I’m a Licensed Psychologist. I work with clients in California, Texas, and 42 other states through PSYPACT.
I’ve been a clinician for about 14 years, working primarily with adults. I love the moment when a thorough assessment helps someone finally make sense of their own story. Many of the people I work with have spent years feeling “different” or misunderstood, and sometimes they’ve wondered whether they just weren’t trying hard enough. My hope is that an evaluation with me feels less like a test and more like a collaboration. I want it to leave you with clarity, language for your experience, and a path forward.
As a 1.5-generation Korean American and the child of immigrants, I know how culture, family, and expectations shape the way we see ourselves. I bring that understanding into every session, along with warmth, curiosity, and respect for the whole person in front of me. You are more than a diagnosis, and I’m honored to help you understand yourself more fully.
So many adults I meet have spent their lives adapting to a world that wasn’t built for them, masking and working twice as hard without anyone noticing. As the child of immigrants, I know a version of that feeling, and it draws me to this work. I’m especially passionate about reaching people who were overlooked, including women, people of color, and adults who seemed “fine” on the outside. I see neurodivergence as a different way of being, not a deficit. My goal is to help you understand your mind, honor your strengths, and build a life that fits who you really are.
I start from the belief that nothing about you needs to be fixed. I’m genuinely curious about how you think and what your days are like, including what feels hard and what helps. I’m also thorough. I take time to gather the full picture, so you can trust that your results reflect everything you share with me. As a Korean American clinician, I also understand that in many cultural contexts, neurodivergence often goes unrecognized. My hope is that you leave feeling understood, affirmed, and more confident in who you are.
