About

Welcome! My name is Dr. Smith, and I am passionate about creating a safe, calming, and supportive environment for adults seeking comprehensive autism evaluations. I understand that the evaluation process can feel overwhelming and anxiety-provoking, and I strive to make each step as comfortable and transparent as possible. My practice is rooted in compassion, respect, and collaboration, ensuring that every person feels heard and valued. With a doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC (2016), I specialize in clinical and forensic evaluations with adolescents and adults. I am licensed to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. My goal is to help you better understand your strengths and challenges, and to provide clear, thoughtful recommendations for treatment modalities tailored to your unique diagnostic profile. I take time to provide feedback, answer your questions, and ensure you feel supported throughout the process. Whether you are seeking answers, clarity, or guidance, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey. Let’s discover your path together.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My dedication to working with neurodivergent individuals stems from a deep appreciation for the unique perspectives, strengths, and complexities that accompany autism and related diagnoses. I am continually inspired by the resilience and creativity within this community, and I am committed to providing evaluations that are not only comprehensive and affordable, but also affirming and respectful of each person’s individuality. Receiving an autism diagnosis is not about labeling—it's about gaining insight, embracing your authentic self, and discovering the tools and resources that can help you thrive. I am honored to be part of your journey and am here to help you unlock your full potential.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

In my work, I believe in celebrating and building upon each individual’s strengths, rather than focusing solely on challenges. My approach is rooted in compassion and affirmation, honoring the diverse experiences and abilities that each person brings. As someone with my own ADHD diagnosis, I have firsthand understanding of the executive functioning difficulties that can accompany neurodivergent profiles, and I strive to create an environment where these experiences are met with empathy and respect. I know that recognizing and embracing your unique strengths can be truly empowering, lifting the veil of uncertainty and opening doors to new opportunities for growth and fulfillment. Together, we will explore your talents, interests, and capabilities, fostering self-acceptance and confidence as you realize your full potential. My commitment is to walk alongside you on your journey, offering support and encouragement every step of the way.
