About
Hello! My name is Chris Mundale. I am a California native and have been licensed to practice in this state for quite some time. I have worked in a wide variety of settings, from hospitals to special education to private practice. No matter the setting, though, my goal is always to ally with my client and focus on nurturing their strengths and abilities. Very early in my career I learned that there is no one "right" way to think, feel, or do, and that helping people find the approach to life that works for them is the best way to be of help.
I have worked with autistic children and adolescents for years, mostly in school settings but also private practice. There are fewer services for neurodivergent adults, unless they are very severely affected. At the same time, I have noticed more and more of my adult clients were asking me about the possibility that they might be neurodivergent in some way. They had noticed aspects of their thinking and behavior that didn't match up with other neurotypical people they knew. When the opportunity arose for me to help people investigate their suspicions about neurodivergence I was excited at the opportunity. I especially appreciate the ability to focus on strengths and abilities as the guideposts to a more satisfying life.
I did not want to do these assessments so that I could tell people what's "wrong" with them. Instead, I think they are an amazing opportunity to learn more about yourself and discover your own unique set of strengths and abilities. To do that, I need to listen in a value-free way, without judgment or criticism. I want to learn about you as a person, your personal experiences, thoughts, and feelings so that I can help you take that next step in addressing challenges you might be experiencing or achieving greater personal growth.
