About
My name is Chelsea Torres. I currently reside in New Jersey and am licensed in New Jersey, New York, and am a PSYPACT provider. As a first-generation, Latin, bilingual clinician, I draw primarily from cognitive behavioral theory and incorporate mindfulness-based interventions, where applicable, to meet clients’ specific needs. I also bring a unique lens to my work that reflects my own intersectionality, but with the mindful eye and attention that others' identities are also of importance and need always be taken into consideration.
I am passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals to help them better understand how their patterns of thinking can affect their emotional and physical bodies. Gaining insight of the internal self, and learning the mind-body connection, can help guide us to acknowledge and accept our actions, reactions, and behaviors.
I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach by validating each individuals' lived experience. I take into consideration the unique intersectionality of each individual in hopes they feel seen and also to empower them to function optimally in their daily lives.
