About

Hello! I'm Dr. Catherine (Cassie) Baird, a licensed clinical psychologist serving adults in Wisconsin and New York. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive space where you feel comfortable discussing whatever has brought you to therapy. I believe meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted, and I work collaboratively with each client to develop practical strategies that fit their unique needs and goals.

My professional background spans integrated primary care, correctional mental health, forensic psychology, and psychological assessment, giving me experience working with people from many different walks of life and with a wide range of mental health concerns. I recently provided behavioral health services within an internal medicine clinic at the University of Wisconsin, where I worked closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to help patients navigate the connection between mental and physical health. I also supervised medical students and enjoy mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers.

I use evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual and have experience helping adults manage anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, and relationship challenges. Whether you're coping with a new diagnosis, feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, or simply looking for support and personal growth, I strive to provide care that is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the latest psychological research.

Seeking therapy is a meaningful step, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they build resilience, gain insight, and create lasting change. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you move toward the life you want to live.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping people better understand themselves. I chose to provide autism assessments because I've seen how many adults spend years wondering why certain aspects of life have always felt more challenging or why they've often felt different from those around them. Receiving a thoughtful, comprehensive evaluation can bring clarity, validation, and a new perspective on lifelong experiences.

I enjoy taking the time to get to know each person's unique strengths, challenges, and history rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis. Whether an evaluation confirms autism or points in a different direction, my goal is to provide answers that are accurate, compassionate, and useful. I want every individual to leave with a deeper understanding of themselves and practical recommendations that support their goals, relationships, and overall well-being.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My priority upon engaging in any kind of assessment is to create a safe, warm, and supportive environment. I know how important it is to feel seen and understood, especially in a novel situation such as an assessment. I appreciate the diversity in the world at large, in every form; I am honored to support the individual needs at every turn possible in my work and daily life.
