About

Hi, I’m Caron! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Philadelphia, PA, but before I’m a therapist, I’m a person—and a neurodivergent one at that. My own experiences have helped shape the kind of provider I want to be: someone who understands that being different doesn’t mean being deficient, and that sometimes the qualities we’ve spent years trying to hide, manage, or apologize for are actually some of the best parts of who we are. I’m passionate about helping neurodivergent adults better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and build lives that work *with* their brains instead of constantly fighting against them. My style is warm, curious, validating, and practical, with enough humor mixed in to remind us that therapy doesn’t have to feel like a weekly performance review. I genuinely enjoy getting to know the whole person their interests, quirks, goals, challenges, 47 open mental tabs, and all and creating a space where they can take off the mask, figure out what they actually need, and begin seeing themselves through a more compassionate lens. What draws me to this work, and especially to Prosper Health, is the opportunity to help people move beyond simply asking, “What’s wrong with me?” and toward discovering, What makes me...what do I need, and how can I build a life where I can actually thrive?”

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My desire to work with autistic and neurodivergent clients is both personal and professional. As a neurodivergent person myself, I know what it can feel like to move through a world that often expects your brain to work differently than it actually does—and how exhausting it can be to spend years trying to fit into spaces that weren’t necessarily designed with you in mind. Professionally, I’ve also worked with many adults who spent years believing they were “too sensitive,” “too much,” unmotivated, difficult, or simply bad at being an adult, when in reality they were overwhelmed, masking, experiencing sensory overload, or trying to meet expectations that didn’t work for their brains. Those experiences made me passionate about creating the kind of therapeutic space where people don’t have to explain away or apologize for who they are. I love helping clients understand the why behind their experiences, find accommodations and coping strategies that actually fit their lives, and most importantly recognize the strengths and genuinely great parts of themselves that may have gotten buried under years of trying to “do better.” Sometimes success isn’t finally becoming the person who remembers every appointment, answers every text, tolerates every noise; I certainly haven’t cracked that code. Sometimes it’s understanding yourself well enough to stop fighting your brain and start building a life that works with it. That is the kind of work I want to be part of.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach by starting with the belief that my clients are not problems that need to be fixed. I want to understand the whole person their strengths, interests, experiences, quirks, challenges, and what makes their brain uniquely theirs. I validate my clients’ experiences while helping them recognize abilities they may have overlooked after years of masking or feeling “different.” Rather than forcing someone to fit into a certain idea of what functioning should look like, we work together to find strategies, accommodations, and goals that actually fit their life. My goal is for clients to leave therapy knowing themselves a little better, trusting themselves a little more, and recognizing that some of the things they once saw as flaws may actually be pretty great parts of who they are.
