About

Hello and welcome! I am so glad you are here! My name is Carla Wiley. I am a licensed professional counselor in Alabama. I am also a national certified counselor. I have experience counseling individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and belief systems.

I am committed to helping individuals overcome any challenges they may be experiencing in a safe and caring space. My theoretical orientation is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring treatment to each individual's unique strengths, goals, and circumstances. I believe that every person has the capacity for growth, the ability to create positive change, and to be heard. Sometimes, it simply takes the right support and guidance to recognize those strengths and move forward. My goal is to partner with you on your journey, helping you build practical tools, gain new perspectives, and work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Education & Licensure
Bachelors in Criminology from Auburn University, Auburn; Masters in Community Counseling from Auburn University, Auburn; Masters in School Counseling from Troy University, Phenix City; and Education Specialist in School Counseling from Troy University, Montgomery
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I chose to work with autistic/neurodivergent individuals because I genuinely enjoy getting to know the unique ways people experience and interact with the world. As both a school counselor and therapist, I've seen how often neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood or expected to fit into environments that were not designed with them in mind. I want to build my skills so I can provide support that respects who they are rather than trying to change who they are.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My goal isn't to "fix" autism or other forms of neurodivergence. I plan to help clients better understand themselves, build on their strengths, help develop skills that are meaningful to them, navigate challenges, and to advocate for them. I will provide a listening ear and safe space because I strongly believe that everyone deserves to be heard, respected, and supported in ways that honor how their brain works.
