About
Hi there! I’m Caitlin, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan and Illinois with over five years of experience working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and neurodivergence. I take a neurodivergent-affirming approach that focuses on understanding your unique patterns, needs, and strengths rather than pathologizing them. I prioritize creating a safe and open environment where we can explore ways to help you grow.My approach is supportive, straightforward, and tailored to each person. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and ACT, focusing on helping you better understand yourself and build tools that translate into your everyday life.
I see neurodivergent individuals as an underrepresented population in mental health care, and I’m committed to providing respectful, affirming support that is attuned to lived experience. I believe in meeting each client with acceptance and trust in their capacity for growth, without pressure or force. My goal is to create a space where clients feel less alone in how they move through the world.I value bringing warmth and authenticity into the therapy space, where life experiences can be understood rather than corrected.
I view therapy as a space where clients can reconnect with their inherent strengths, insight, and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I work with clients to notice and build upon what is already present and working for them, even when that feels hard to access.I believe meaningful change comes from working with your strengths and understanding yourself more fully, not forcing yourself into a different version of who you are.I also bring a neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed lens to this work, with a commitment to honoring lived experience and supporting clients in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
