About

Hello, and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Dr. Bryant Stone, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Columbia, Maryland. I’m licensed in Maryland and a PSYPACT-authorized provider, which means I can offer services to clients across many states. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University and completed advanced training at the Medical University of South Carolina. My clinical experience spans residential, inpatient, outpatient, community mental health, behavioral medicine, and university counseling settings—and through it all, what drives me most is the one-on-one connection. I’m passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where you feel truly heard, and about partnering with you to find your own path forward. Every person’s journey is unique, and I’m committed to offering the care that you deserve.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My path toward working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals grew naturally from my clinical and research background. As a researcher with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and two National Institutes of Health fellowships, I’ve spent years studying how people think, adapt, and grow—and that work deepened my respect for the many ways minds work. In clinical practice, I kept seeing how often neurodivergent individuals were underserved, misunderstood, or asked to fit into frameworks that weren’t built for them, and it didn’t sit right with me. I’m drawn to this work because I believe everyone deserves a clinician who sees them clearly—not as a set of deficits or misunderstandings, but as a whole person with strengths, perspectives, and experiences that matter to me. My goal is to help you navigate challenges on your own terms, build on what’s already working, and move toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to every interaction. That means our work together starts with who you are and what you’re good at—not just what feels hard. I actively listen to you, validate your experiences, and create a space where you can show up authentically without judgment. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you recognize and build on the strengths you already have, and adjust elsewhere as needed to get you where you want to be. I’m also an LGBTQ+-affirming provider, and I’m committed to ensuring that clients of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences feel genuinely welcomed and safe in our work together. Compassion, respect, and collaboration aren’t just values I hold—they’re the foundation of everything I do. My aim is to support you in realizing your full potential, whatever that looks like for you.
