About

Hello and welcome! My name is Brittany Unverzart. I currently live in New York, but am licensed in Florida. I work with individuals who are seeking greater understanding of themselves, more balance in their lives, and support through life’s challenges. My approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine, collaborative space where you can show up as you are without judgment. My role is to support you in noticing your strengths, building on what’s already working for you, and finding new ways to navigate what feels difficult.I’m committed to creating a safe and affirming environment where you feel heard, understood, and supported as a whole person. No two journeys are the same, and I value meeting you exactly where you are.

Education & Licensure
Master of Social Work from University of South Florida; Bachelor in Liberal Arts with a Minor in Psychology from Grandview University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I’ve always valued understanding people as they are, rather than trying to fit them into expectations that weren’t built for them. Over time, I have seen that many individuals had experiences of feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or pressured to mask parts of themselves. I want my work to be a space where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and supported. I’m passionate about helping you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and create a life that feel authentic to who you are, and move toward a life that feels true to you.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I believe each person comes into therapy with strengths, resilience, and wisdom that may not always be visible during difficult seasons of life. My work is grounded in a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach that recognizes differences as meaningful parts of who we are rather than problems to be fixed. Instead of focusing on deficits or fitting you into expectations that may not align with you, I work collaboratively with you to identify and build upon your existing strengths, values, and experiences.I strive to create a space rooted in compassion, curiosity, and affirmation where clients feel safe showing up as their authentic selves. As a neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and disabled individual myself, I understand the importance of feeling seen, respected, and supported in spaces that honor identity and lived experience. I recognize how systems and societal expectations can shape the way people view themselves, and I will work to help you move toward greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and empowerment. My goal is to support you in embracing who you are and recognizing your own capacity for growth, healing, and fulfillment.
