About
Hello and welcome! I'm Brittany Berry, a counselor licensed in Mississippi and Florida, and I'm so glad you're here. I hold a Master of Science in Counselor Education with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and centered on meeting you where you are. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and difficult life transitions. I understand that life doesn't always go as planned, and sometimes we need extra support to make sense of our experiences and find our way forward.
As your counselor, my goal is to help you recognize your strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and feel more confident navigating life's ups and downs. You don't have to have all the answers or know exactly where to start. We can work through things together, one step at a time. Taking the first step toward therapy is an act of courage, and I'm honored to support you on your journey toward greater self-understanding, healing, and well-being.
My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that every individual has unique strengths, abilities, and perspectives that deserve to be recognized and celebrated. I strive to create a compassionate, affirming space where clients feel accepted for who they are rather than feeling pressured to conform to societal expectations. As someone with ADHD, I understand the importance of feeling seen and understood, and I bring that perspective into my work by approaching each client with empathy, curiosity, and an open mind.
Rather than focusing solely on challenges or perceived deficits, I work collaboratively with clients to identify their existing strengths, build on what is already working, and discover strategies that align with their individual needs. I believe neurodivergent individuals have valuable qualities, including creativity, resilience, unique problem-solving abilities, and diverse ways of experiencing the world. My goal is to help clients recognize these qualities within themselves while developing practical tools to support their personal goals and overall well-being.
I believe therapy should be a partnership built on trust, respect, and understanding. I meet clients where they are, honor their lived experiences, and encourage them to define success in ways that are meaningful to them. Ultimately, my goal is to help every client feel empowered to embrace who they are, recognize their potential, and build a life that reflects their strengths, values, and authentic selves.
My passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from both my professional background in counseling and my personal understanding of what it can mean to experience the world differently. As someone with ADHD, I understand that the way we think, process information, and navigate everyday life doesn't always fit traditional expectations. This perspective has deepened my appreciation for the importance of feeling understood, accepted, and supported without judgment.
I want to help individuals better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and navigate the challenges that may affect their daily lives, relationships, and emotional well-being. I know how important it is to have a space where you don't feel pressured to mask who you are or constantly work to meet expectations that don't align with your needs.
My goal is to provide a compassionate, affirming environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Together, we can explore strategies that work with your brain rather than against it, build confidence, and develop tools that support your individual goals. Above all, I want my clients to know that they don't have to change who they are to be worthy of understanding, acceptance, and a fulfilling life.
