Betty Wicks
About
Hi! I am Betty Wicks! I am a clinical psychologist who has been practicing since 2008. I work with a wide range of individuals, from youth to adulthood. For the last few years, I have been working with neurodivergent children as well as adults. This includes people with Autism, ADHD, learning differences, and giftedness. I provide comprehensive testing not only to clarify diagnosis but also to help individuals a plan moving forward. I like to focus on specific individualized recommendations, references, and resources after testing is done. In 2019, I started working with military veterans providing disability evaluations and trauma informed treatment. Working with individuals with a history of trauma is one of my other strong interests. I have spent years studying all the ways that trauma impacts life functioning from youth to adulthood. It has been a privilege for me to walk with someone as they make the brave decision to heal and rebuild their lives. Because anxiety, depression, and chronic pain are common conditions related to trauma, they too have been a regular focus in my practice for many years. For those individuals who might prefer treatment in spanish, I am fluent in this language and would be able to provide you with mental health services. All the best!
I live as a neurodivergent person. I am inspired by others who want to curate a life that is meaningful for them. It is exciting for me to see when others want to craft a rhythm of life that feels genuine to them. I love encouraging others to find their strengths, abilities, and pursue their interests through the use of psychological testing.
I provide affirming and strength-based approach by first understanding the individual’s history, preferences, and current needs/wants. My job as a helper is to listen attentively in order to help the client create a life that they can feel great about. I use testing instruments that are carefully completed in order to get the most out of the information.
