About

Hello! I'm Ben, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. My journey with autism and ADHD has been both personal and professional. After many years working with trauma, I quickly saw the intersection between trauma and neurodivergence. It's been incredibly fulfilling to assist individuals in navigating growth and finding purpose in a world that can often be challenging for neurodivergent individuals.

Education & Licensure
Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Pentecostal Theological Seminary; Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Lee University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I was fortunate to receive early diagnosis of autism and ADHD (AuDHD) myself. However, in the late 90s, most support available was designed for the general population, overlooking the unique sensory experiences of autistic individuals. What attracted me to Prosper Health was their specialized approach in tailoring therapeutic methods for neurodivergent individuals.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My experience as a neurodivergent individual and as a parent of neurodivergent children has taught me that affirmation creates a much better environment for growth. Without affirmation, it is extremely difficult to learn how to self-advocate and leverage strengths effectively. Learning music taught me that I could indeed learn, and I wouldn’t have succeeded in college without that realization. A strength-based approach in therapy provides clients with tools beyond the therapeutic setting and becomes fundamental to pursuing a meaningful life.
