About

Hello, I'm Belinda Johnson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed to practice in Georgia. With more than 25 years of experience in social work and behavioral health, I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their strengths, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. My professional background includes managed care, clinical leadership, community mental health, hospital settings, and outpatient therapy. What drives me as a therapist is the opportunity to meet people where they are, help them feel heard and understood, and empower them to become active participants in their own healing. I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space to explore their experiences, discover their resilience, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Education & Licensure
Master of Business Administration (MBA), Kennesaw State University; Master of Social Work (MSW), Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from a strong belief that people should be understood, supported, and valued for who they are rather than expected to fit into a particular mold. I recognize that neurodivergent individuals may experience the world, relationships, communication, and daily responsibilities differently, and those differences deserve understanding rather than judgment. I am passionate about creating a supportive, affirming environment where clients can explore their strengths, navigate challenges, improve emotional regulation, and develop practical strategies for everyday life. My goal is to help individuals build self-confidence, strengthen relationships, and advocate for their needs while honoring their unique identities. I believe therapy should meet you where you are, respect how your brain works, and empower you to define what success and well-being look like for yourself.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every individual has inherent strengths, abilities, and potential. I strive to see the whole person rather than define someone by a diagnosis, past experiences, or current challenges. I take time to understand each client's unique perspective, recognize their existing strengths, and build upon the skills and resources they already possess. My approach is affirming, culturally responsive, and individualized, with an emphasis on creating a safe space where clients feel respected, accepted, and comfortable being themselves. I incorporate evidence-based strategies to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, build confidence, improve relationships, and navigate everyday challenges. I believe meaningful progress happens when individuals feel empowered to embrace who they are, recognize their resilience, and define success on their own terms.
