About

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Dr. Beatrix Wagner, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California with a background in psychological and neuropsychological assessment. I have spent much of my career helping children, adolescents, and adults better understand how they think, learn, communicate, connect, and experience the world.

I am passionate about providing evaluations that feel thoughtful, respectful, and collaborative. I know that seeking an autism evaluation can be a meaningful step, whether you are looking for clarity, validation, support, or a better understanding of yourself or your child. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.

Every person’s story is unique, and I approach each evaluation with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your lived experience. I hope to help you walk away with a clearer understanding of your strengths, needs, and next steps.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I chose this work because I have always been drawn to understanding the many different ways people experience the world. Autism evaluations are especially meaningful to me because they can provide language, context, and clarity for experiences that may have gone misunderstood for many years.

I believe that autistic and neurodivergent individuals deserve evaluations that are not focused only on difficulties, but also on strengths, patterns, identity, and the environments where they feel most supported. For many people, an evaluation can be an important part of self-understanding, advocacy, and finding supports that genuinely fit.

My goal is to help you better understand yourself or your child in a way that feels validating, practical, and respectful. I want the evaluation process to feel like a collaborative exploration rather than a judgment or a checklist.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is affirming, strengths-based, and individualized. I do not view autism as something that needs to be “fixed.” Instead, I focus on understanding how you or your child communicates, processes information, experiences sensory input, builds relationships, manages daily demands, and navigates the world.

During the evaluation process, I pay close attention to both strengths and challenges. I want to understand what comes naturally, what takes extra effort, what may be masked or misunderstood, and what types of support may help you feel more comfortable and successful in daily life.

I strive to create a space where you can show up as yourself. I listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and consider the full picture, including developmental history, emotional well-being, learning style, sensory experiences, communication differences, and life context. My goal is to provide feedback and recommendations that are clear, compassionate, and useful beyond the evaluation itself.
