About
Hello, I'm Beatrice Fernandez, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Master's Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP), and Qualified Supervisor licensed in Florida. I have over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through life's challenges in outpatient, telehealth, crisis intervention, and behavioral health settings. What inspires me most as a therapist is helping people recognize their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported in a space where they can be themselves without judgment. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while working collaboratively with each client to help them navigate challenges, improve emotional well-being, and achieve the goals that matter most to them.
Throughout my career as a mental health counselor, I've worked with many individuals who have experienced feeling misunderstood, judged, or overlooked because they process the world differently. That experience has deepened my appreciation for the importance of providing care that is individualized, affirming, and centered on each person's unique strengths.I'm drawn to working with autistic and neurodivergent clients because I believe everyone deserves to be supported in a way that respects their communication style, sensory needs, and personal goals rather than trying to change who they are. I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop practical strategies that improve their daily lives. While my clinical background includes extensive work with anxiety, depression, trauma, crisis intervention, and co-occurring conditions, I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge of neurodiversity-affirming care. I'm excited about the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues at Prosper Health while providing compassionate, evidence-based support that helps clients thrive.
I believe every client comes to therapy with existing strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth. My role is to help individuals recognize those strengths, build upon them, and develop strategies that support the life they want to live. Rather than focusing on what is "wrong," I work collaboratively with clients to understand their unique experiences, celebrate their successes, and identify practical tools that promote confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel respected, heard, and accepted as they are. I recognize that every person's experiences, communication style, and goals are different, so I tailor treatment to meet each individual's needs while honoring their values and identity. As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Spanish, I am also passionate about providing culturally responsive care and improving access to mental health services for individuals from diverse backgrounds. My goal is for every client to feel empowered, understood, and supported as they build on their strengths and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
