Hello and welcome! I’m really glad to meet you and to take this next step with you. I am Dr. August Alvarado (most people call me Dr. August) and live in Rhode Island. I am licensed in Rhode Island and Colorado. I also see clients in various other states under PSYPACT. I’m looking forward to our first session as we work together to answer the questions you have about yourself.
I enjoy people people build skills, increase their confidence, and celebrate their unique self. Just because you're an adult doesn't mean you have everything figured out. Life is filled with so many questions, and I hope to help you answer a few of yours. Maybe you feel like no one understands what you are going through, and you feel alone in the world. Maybe you you have felt different all your life and you don’t know why. Maybe life feels constantly confusing or overwhelming. My wish is to help you better understand yourself and to find ways to support as you build a life that feels authentic and true.
Going through this process might feel scary and I'm with you every step of the way. I use a strength-based lens to focus on what you can do, not what you are lacking. I listen to your experiences without judgement, and believe you. Come as you are and bring your whole self. All identities are welcomed and respected.
