About

Hello, and welcome. I am glad you are here. My name is Dr. Ashvind N. Adkins Singh, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 25 years of experience. I live between Long Beach, California and Charlottesville, Virginia, and I am licensed in both California and Virginia. My training sits at the intersection of clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and behavioral science, and much of my career has centered on understanding how each person's mind is uniquely built. I believe an assessment should feel less like being measured and more like being understood. My goal is to create a calm, respectful space where you can show up exactly as you are, so that what we learn together genuinely reflects who you are.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge; Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honors from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for this work is direct: neurodivergent and autistic people remain underserved, too often assessed against a template that was never designed for them. I trained under pioneers in autism assessment and treatment, and I have since led autism evaluation and Applied Behavior Analysis services in my own practice. Across those years, one conviction has held steady: a clear, affirming, and accurate understanding of how your mind works can change the direction of a life, opening doors to self-understanding, accommodation, and connection. I see neurodivergence as a difference to be understood, not a deficit to be corrected, and I want the assessment itself to reflect that respect.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring a strengths-based and affirming approach to every assessment. Rather than starting with what might be hard, I begin with what works well for you: how you think, focus, connect, and make sense of the world. I listen carefully, I take your own self-knowledge seriously, and I treat your lived experience as central evidence rather than a footnote. My aim is for you to leave the process feeling seen and genuinely understood, with language and insight you can use in daily life, relationships, work, and self-advocacy. Every person's profile is different, and I am committed to an assessment that is as individual as you are.
