About
Hello! I'm Ashley Schutz, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Wisconsin. I bring a steady, grounded presence to therapy and work to create a space where you can show up as you are and feel genuinely understood. I pay close attention to what’s happening in your body and how the world moves through your eyes, supporting you in noticing your internal cues as we explore your experiences and the direction you’re moving toward. My hope is that our work helps you be gentler with yourself, honor your pace, and feel more anchored in yourself.
I chose to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients because I’ve seen how often you’re asked to mask, push through, or appear fine without anyone pausing to ask what your reactions are communicating or what your body is working so hard to manage. You deserve a space where your internal experience is not questioned or minimized but understood with curiosity and respect. I want you to feel fully seen beneath the surface of what others notice, and to have room to explore your patterns, needs, and nervous system responses without having to justify them.
I bring a strengths based, affirming approach by recognizing the strengths and experiences you already bring with you. I see therapy as time you dedicate to yourself, moving at a pace that feels steady and manageable. Progress often unfolds in small steps, like following a garden path one stone at a time, sometimes stepping in puddles, with each session offering a place to land, reflect, and continue toward what feels more grounded and within reach.
