About

Hello! I'm Dr. Ashley Merritt and I live in Colorado Springs. I am excited to find new ways to help others learn about themselves. I believe this is an essential step towards relief, growth, and the life you want. My goal is to listen and help you to explore your challenges, along with your strengths. I want to help find you answers and identify a smoother path for your future.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in 2018 and Master's degree in 2013 from the University of the Rockies (UoR) in Denver, Colorado; Bachelor of Arts in Psychology 2006 from Colorado College, Colorado Springs
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My 'why' for this work has many answers. I love the neurodivergent mind and enjoy interacting with truly unique individuals. I am passionate about finding ways to help others get to know themselves at a deeper level and to find answers. I am also excited about the new research, resources, and therapies in this area. I feel privileged to be involved and to help move the mission forward. My goal is to learn as much as I can and help others do the same.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My curiosity about others is rooted in empathy, positive regard, and genuineness. We are all imperfect humans with our own challenges and we need to be able to express ourselves openly. That is the only way to grow. Every thought, feeling, or impulse is ok to explore with me, and I don't get offended easily. I naturally gravitate towards strengths in my clients and often identify qualities they have never noticed. We will build on these in order to figure out how to get where you want to go.
