About

Hi, I’m Ashleigh Claiborne, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults. I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and respected. My background in community mental health and integrated care has given me experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of needs. I strive to provide compassionate, strengths based, and trauma informed care, partnering with each client to help them better understand themselves, build resilience, and achieve meaningful goals.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I chose to become a social worker because I have always been passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges and advocating for those who may not always have a voice. I believe in meeting people where they are, recognizing their strengths, and supporting them with compassion and respect. Being a social worker allows me to empower individuals and families to overcome barriers, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is rooted in recognizing and building upon each person’s unique strengths. I believe every individual has the capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change. My role is to provide a compassionate, affirming space where clients feel empowered to better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop the tools they need to thrive. I often remind clients that it’s okay to be a unicorn—your differences are part of what make you unique and valuable. Together, we focus on fostering self-awareness, celebrating progress, and creating a path that reflects each client’s goals, values, and full potential.
