About
Hello and welcome — I'm so glad you found your way here. My name is Arthur Sabian. I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and I'm licensed to practice across California. What drew me to this work, and what keeps me in it, is a deep belief that everyone deserves a relationship built on authenticity, compassion, and real respect for what they've lived through. My own path has been shaped by a multicultural upbringing — including years living overseas — that gave me a lasting appreciation for the many different ways people experience the world. This translates to providing neurodiverse affirming care, as your experience matters and together we will figure things out in our own way towards a better life.
My work with neurodiverse clients began early in my career, providing behavioral and developmental support to autistic children, teens, and families across school and home settings — and later volunteering as a therapist at an international autism center abroad. What stayed with me from those years wasn't a list of "challenges to fix," but the people themselves: their passions, their honesty, their ways of seeing and engaging the world that the world too often misunderstands. That respect for neurodiversity is the heart of why I do this work. Autistic and neurodiverse adults have spent so much of their lives being asked to translate themselves for everyone else. In our work together, my hope is the opposite — that you can show up as you actually are, and feel met there. I'm here to help you navigate what feels hard, lean into what comes naturally, and build a life that fits the person you genuinely are rather than the one you've been told to perform.
I lead with the belief that you are not a problem to be solved — you are a person with real strengths, and my job is to help you recognize, trust, and build on them. I listen closely and take your experience at face value, validating what you feel rather than asking you to justify it, so that our work feels like a genuinely safe place to be yourself. Rather than centering everything on what's "wrong," I want to understand what already works for you — the strategies, interests, and ways of relating that are uniquely yours — and use those as the foundation for growth. My approach is rooted in affirmation and compassion, and it's collaborative at every step: you're the expert on your own life, and I'm here to walk alongside you as you move toward the fuller, more authentic life you deserve.
